Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.-William Shakespeare

I am on a roll this week.  This book review will be the 2nd book I had read in one week.  I had actually completed this book in 3 days.  I did not want to put it down.

Cross Her Heart: A Novel by Sarah Pinborough

I had chosen this book for my Book of the Month and  returned to reading a mystery/suspense book.  It was certainly a page turner.

Told from the perspective of three women, Cross Her Heart is all about connecting to other females.  Lisa is a very quiet, nearly forty, single mother, who is very private with her past and focused on raising her sixteen year old daughter, Ava.  Her best friend, Marilyn, wants her to break out of her quiet shell and not have her life be consumed by Ava.  While Ava loves her mother, she is tired of being overprotected and wants live like a normal teenager.  She meets someone online, who builds her confidence and begins to fall them.  Similar to Lisa, Marilyn has some elements of her life that she wants to keep private, but she would like see her best friend break out of her shell.  When Lisa is finally able to break down the walls she has built, small parts of her past begin to come back.  In order to protect the life she has built, Lisa must face her fears and rely on the only person she can trust—Marilyn.

Cross Her Heart is filled with many twists and turns that I stayed up late wanting to finish the book.  This is certainly a heart breaking story and you are rooting for these women to overcome their obstacles.

If you have any recommendations for thrilling books, please feel free to share.
