For this week’s book review, I’m going to
discuss a book that I had actually read a couple of months ago and I have been
listening to the audiobook.  There are not too many books out there that
discuss the type of situation that happens between the two main characters of
this story.  Not only is it romantic, but
the story can certainly relate to our insecurities and anxieties that we have
when first falling in love.
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
I had gotten this book as being a member for the
Book of the Month subscription.  When I read the synopsis, I feel in
love.  I knew that this will be a story
that is different from all the other romance novels, and it will be a quick
read.  I have also been listening to the audiobook for the past week and
half, and I fell in love with it all over again.
The Kiss Quotient is about Stella Lane who is very good at math.  She gets
paid to come up with algorithms to predict customer purchases.  While she
makes more money than she knows what to do with, Stella does struggle in the
love department.  Being 30 years old and having Aspergers, Stella feels
that she needs to get more practice in all things about relationships.
Thus, she decides to hire an escort.
Michael Phan, an attractive Vietnamese and Swedish man, can’t turn down
her offer of crossing off certain lesson plans when it comes to her being
perfect not only in romance, but also in the bed room.
If you are not familiar with romance novels, you
know where the ending will be going.  I certainly enjoyed reading this
book, and Helen Hoang is able to tell a story with so much humor and love that
you will enjoy reading or listening to this a second time.
